Skin Biopsy: Tissue samples are taken from the lesion area on the skin to diagnose skin diseases by microscopic examination. Various biopsy techniques (punch biopsy, excisional biopsy, incisional biopsy, etc.) can be used.
Electrocauterization: The removal of certain lesions such as skin tags, warts, seborrheic keratosis by burning them using electric current.
Cryotherapy: Treatment of lesions like warts and actinic keratosis by freezing them with liquid nitrogen or other cooling gases.
Curettage: Removal of certain skin lesions (e.g., seborrheic keratosis) by scraping with a special instrument called a curette.
Laser Therapy: Use of various laser devices to treat skin spots, vascular lesions, warts, skin tags, and many other skin problems. The laser’s wavelength and energy are adjusted according to the target tissue.
Microscopic Examination and Culture: Examination of skin scrapings, hair, nails under a microscope, and culture tests to diagnose fungal or bacterial infections.
Allergy Tests: Patch tests (to identify allergens causing contact dermatitis) and skin prick tests (to identify respiratory and food allergens) to determine causes of allergic skin reactions.
Cosmetic Dermatology Procedures
Botulinum Toxin (Botox) Injections: Used to reduce the activity of facial mimic muscles to soften the appearance of wrinkles and treat excessive sweating.
Fillers: Use of filler substances such as hyaluronic acid to compensate for volume loss in the skin, fill wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. Lip fillers are included in this category.
