As a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology, the health of the female reproductive system and the management of the childbirth process are my area of expertise and primary focus. In cases requiring surgery, I successfully perform various surgical procedures to maintain the highest level of patient health and quality of life.

The main surgical methods I perform include:

Increasingly used in gynecology, this method is performed through small incisions in the abdominal area using a camera and instruments.

Applications:

  • Diagnostic laparoscopy (examining the interior of the abdomen for diagnostic purposes)
  • Removal of ovarian cysts
  • Removal of fibroids (laparoscopic myomectomy)
  • Treatment of endometriosis
  • Hysterectomy (laparoscopic removal of the uterus)
  • Treatment of ectopic pregnancy
  • Tubal ligation
  • Uterine prolapse surgeries

A method in which the interior of the uterus is examined and treated through a thin camera (hysteroscope) inserted via the cervix.

Applications:

  • Removal of intrauterine polyps
  • Correction of intrauterine adhesions
  • Investigation of abnormal uterine bleeding
  • Removal of intrauterine devices (IUDs)

Traditional surgical method performed through a larger incision in the abdominal area.

Applications:

  • Removal of large fibroids
  • Advanced-stage cancer surgery
  • Emergency procedures (e.g., ruptured ectopic pregnancy)

Delivery of the baby through an incision in the abdomen and uterus, preferred when vaginal delivery is not possible or risky.

  • Labiaplasty (inner labia aesthetic correction)
  • Vaginoplasty (vaginal tightening)

Gynecology Department Screening Tests

Obstetricians and gynecologists may request various tests to evaluate their patients’ overall health, particularly reproductive system health, diagnose diseases, and determine appropriate treatment methods. The type of test varies depending on the patient’s complaints, examination findings, and the physician’s clinical assessment.

Common tests frequently requested by gynecologists:

This is a fundamental procedure recommended for every patient. The doctor examines the external and internal genital organs (vagina, cervix, uterus, ovaries) manually and visually.

  • Transvaginal Ultrasound: Provides detailed imaging of the uterus, ovaries, and other pelvic organs using a probe inserted into the vagina.
  • Abdominal Ultrasound: Performed through the abdomen to visualize pelvic organs and detect issues such as fibroids or cysts in the uterus.

A test conducted to screen for cervical cancer and enable early diagnosis. Cells are collected from the cervix and examined under a microscope.

A test performed to screen for human papillomavirus (HPV), the main cause of cervical cancer.

Hormonal Tests:

  • FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone): Controls ovarian stimulation and egg production.
  • LH (Luteinizing Hormone): Triggers ovulation.
  • Estrogen: Known as the female sex hormone.
  • Progesterone: Prepares the uterine lining for pregnancy during the second half of the menstrual cycle.
  • Thyroid Hormones (TSH, T3, T4): Assess thyroid gland function.
  • Prolactin: Stimulates milk production.
  • Testosterone: Present in women as well as men.
  • AMH (Anti-Müllerian Hormone): Indicates ovarian reserve.

These tests are used to diagnose problems related to hormonal imbalances, such as menstrual irregularities, infertility, and hirsutism (excessive hair growth).

  • Vaginal Culture: A sample from vaginal discharge is tested for yeast, bacteria, or other microorganisms.
  • Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Tests: Tests for infections such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis.

The Pap smear and HPV tests mentioned above are screening tests for cervical cancer. Additional blood tests (e.g., CA-125) may be requested for uterine or ovarian cancer if necessary.

For pre-pregnancy evaluation, your doctor may request complete blood count, urinalysis, blood group testing, and screening for infectious diseases.

During pregnancy, various ultrasound and blood tests (such as double, triple, and quadruple screenings) are performed to monitor the baby’s health and development.
